Woodworking
Teak is the ideal wood for outdoor applications because it is so dense and water-resistant that it defies almost all types of rot and warping. However, for these same reasons, it takes exceptional skill to work with teak wood. Fortunately, the Antonini company has over 80 years of experience in woodworking, including multiple patents for woodworking machinery and processes. This base of knowledge, combined with a culture that emphasizes artisanship and the highest quality of work, make Antonini carpenters some of the most skilled woodworkers that Italy has to offer, and make Antonini outdoor furniture the most sought-after outdoor furniture available.
Metalsmithing
Antonini metal is wrought by metalsmiths using traditional and modern techniques and as a final process it is exposed to an electric field and bonded with protective particles in a process called cataphoresis. Thanks to a unique blend of old and new processes, Antonini frames possess the best of old-world artistry and modern durability and finish.
Majolica
Each piece of painted tile used in an Antonini tabletop is painted by hand. The painting and sealing techniques used have been developed by Italian artisans over hundreds of years, and the patterns and designs used have their roots in the Italian renaissance. Typically, the knowledge of a master painter is passed down to his children or to an apprentice. In this way, Antonini’s majolica tiles are the current incarnation of a highly revered tradition of Italian craftsmanship. The Siena collection features the beauty of teak's fiery grain and deep finish along with hand-painted majolica tile in a variety of patterns.
